One destination Five Heritage Sites – Hue City is located in the central region of the S-shaped country, Thua Thien Hue is bordered by the majestic Truong Son Mountain Range to the west, and to the east, the captivating coastline and territorial waters of Vietnam’s East Sea. Hue City is Thua Thien Hue’s administration, culture, and economy center. In 1306, following the marriage proposal from King Che Man of the Kingdom of Champa to Princess Huyen Tran of the Tran Dynasty, Thua Thien Hue became part of Dai Viet the same year.

Hue, a city with deep historical significance, has played a pivotal role in the history of Vietnam. With a history of Nguyen lords and Nguyen Dynasty, Hue has evolved into a destination that offers an extraordinary glimpse into the past.

1. The Complex of Hue Monuments

2. Royal Court Music World

Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2003) Royal court music (Nhã Nhạc Cung Đình) was institutionalized in the 15th century and skillfully refined in the Nguyen dynasty. Distinct from folk music, this is the official form of music in court ceremonies and festivals. It was considered a means of communication and expressing respect to deities and kings. The Nguyen reign held nearly 100 performances annually.

5. Moc Ban – World Documentary Heritages

Woodblocks are boards of wood carved with Han Nom (Sino-Vietnamese) characters as a popular method of printing in Vietnam in feudal times. The woodblocks carved provide reliable sources for research, collation, and study of various fields in Vietnam.
